GTA 6 Download Time Calculator: How Long at Your Internet Speed?
Quick answer: at the reported 210 GB PS5 size, GTA 6 takes about 4 h 47 min at a sustained 100 Mbps, 9 h 34 min at 50 Mbps and 19 h 7 min at 25 Mbps. Enter your own measured speed below. The 210 GB figure comes from PlayStation Store tracking reported by the media; Rockstar has not confirmed it, and no Xbox size has been reported.
210 GB ideal times (static chart)
| Sustained speed | Ideal time |
|---|---|
| 10 Mbps | about 47.8 hours |
| 25 Mbps | about 19.1 hours |
| 50 Mbps | about 9.6 hours |
| 100 Mbps | about 4.8 hours |
| 200 Mbps | about 2.4 hours |
| 300 Mbps | about 1.6 hours |
| 500 Mbps | about 57 minutes |
| 1 Gbps | about 29 minutes |
Formula: hours = size in GB × 8,192 ÷ speed in Mbps ÷ 3,600 (8,192 = 1,024 MB per GB × 8 bits per byte). Ideal times assume the speed is sustained from start to finish; real downloads are usually slower.
How to use the result
Use a speed test taken near the console at the time you plan to download, and use the sustained figure rather than the best burst. The allowance field lowers your measured speed to a planning rate (80% is an assumption you can change, not a scientific constant). Preload opens on 12 November 2026 (confirmed by Rockstar), a week before the 19 November launch, so a slow connection still has time.
Want to understand the units? Try the Mbps to MB/s converter. Not sure what speed you really get? Use the real-world speed estimator. On a capped plan, check the data cap calculator.

Frequently asked questions
How long does GTA 6 take to download at 100 Mbps?
At the reported 210 GB PS5 size, about 4 hours 47 minutes if 100 Mbps is sustained the whole time. Allow longer for normal slowdowns.
Is 210 GB the official GTA 6 size?
No. It was reported from PlayStation Store tracking and covered by gaming media. Rockstar had not confirmed it on 2 November 2026, and no Xbox size had been reported.
Why does my console show a different time?
Consoles forecast from recent throughput, which changes with Wi-Fi conditions, other devices and server load.
Does a faster SSD speed up the download?
No. Download time depends on your network and the store servers; storage affects installation and loading.
